My styleMy style of taking film is very simple.
Is like what you like nowadays on TV.
My story are mostly about the modern days
like what is happening about us,
what is life all about etc.
I don't think out of the box,
as in I won't take film that are not related to the modern life.
I shoot whatever people can see in real life nowadays.
Heart string (2005)
Rationale
But after knowing the film "hairspray" by Adam Shankman.
It change my thinking.
Adam Shankman reshoot John water Hairspray that was produce in 1988.
He produced a 60s musical film
And it make me think
People nowadays still dance not only in the 60s
why can't I make a musical film like him?
And I think it will be interesting if one of my production is like the movie in 60s people dancing and singing.
So I remake one of my past production to the 60s musical feeling.
And a new Heart string is out.
My story
This story is about a guy and a girl who are in different world. Joel was a normal boy in school, nothing great about him. Just like most people he live in a HDB, take bus to school. But one day, he help a girl who want to jump off the building. It was the girl he is eyeing on seen he first came to school but they are both live a different life. Joanne is a rich girl but she had not much friend. But after the incident she and Joel became friends. Slowly Joanne found out how fortunate is Joel is even he is poor. Slowly she found out what is mostly important in life.
Shoots
This is how they met. They just look at each other and Joanne walk away.

This is how it going to look like now. I will change the background colour to create the moods.

This is the shoot that I took in 2005. As normal walking and talking with background music. The shoot is to show the relationship of the two people coming closer.

This is how I will do it today. Instead of showing normal life style, I change it to dancing and singing. Something like a musical movie.

A very normal two people talking shoot.

Like the last shoot, I replace the boring talking to singing to make the sad mood stronger.

His Style in Hairspray is more to the 60s. It's a musical film, there are dancing and singing. He shot the film in the 60s feeling by the cast dress up in the 60s clothing, the lighting of the film make a different too and the place where he shot his film are mostly building or houses can be found in the 60s

Storyline Tracy Turnblad, a big girl with big hair and an even bigger heart, has only one passion--dancing. Her dream is to appear on "The Corny Collins Show," Baltimore's hippest dance party on TV. Tracy seems a natural fit for the show except for one not-so-little problem--she doesn't fit in. Her plus-sized figure has always set her apart from the cool crowd, which she is reminded of by her loving but overly protective plus-sized mother, Edna. That doesn't stop Tracy because if there is one thing that this girl knows, it's that she was born to dance. After wowing Corny Collins at her high school dance, Tracy wins a spot on his show and becomes an instant on-air sensation, much to the chagrin of the show's reigning princess, Amber Von Tussle, and her scheming mother, Velma, who runs television station WYZT. Even worse for Amber is the fact that it's not just the audience who loves the new girl in town; Amber's sweetheart, Link Larkin, seems to be smitten with Tracy's charms as well. This dance party gets personal as a bitter feud erupts between the girls as they compete for the coveted "Miss Teenage Hairspray" crown. At school, however, a short stint in detention and raised-eyebrows caused by the budding relationship between her best friend Penny Pingleton and Seaweed opens Tracy's eyes to a bigger issue than the latest dance craze or the coolest hairdo--racial inequality. Throwing caution to the wind, she leads a march with Motormouth Maybelle to fight for integration and winds up with an arrest warrant instead. Tracy is on the lam now and goes underground--literally--to her best friend Pennys basement. Has Tracy's luck finally run out? Will she miss the final dance-off against Amber and forfeit the title of "Miss Hairspray," or will she sing and dance her way out of trouble again?
